One of the coolest things ever for me was an unexpected flyover by Sentimental Journey with a B-25 and a Mustang as wingmen. I was at home and heard a rumble so I went outside and looked up, what a thrill.

Its a shame they can't build them like that anymore...however...todays weapons are a little more deadly.

Guy who works for me is a crew chief on a flying B-17 at the Yankee Air Museum here in Michigan. Their ball turrett is the one they used in the movie Memphis Belle.
If you watch all these guys travel around the country with the 17's and Liberators doing airshows.
Jack Roush has a collection of old planes inclung a Mustang called Old Crow. In my office there is a pic of Jack flying it taken out of the B17.
Bob Lutz is a huge plane nut, he flies a helicopter around the proving grounds sometimes and has a MIG trainer.

when i was a kid about 10 or 12 years old the B-17 "Sentimental Journey" was making a cross country trip and came into the Stevens Point airport about 30 minutes from where i live. it was there for a couple of days so my dad and i went up to see it. he ended up talkin to the pilot and gettin me special access because he was in ww2 so him and the pilot were talkin for hours like old buddies.

I love those old planes, I watch alot of History Channel, and it's amazing the damage they'd take and still be able to fly.
I saw these a few months back... http://www.southcoasttoday.com/apps/...NEWS/709100347
They were flying in a loop all afternoon that went right over my work, the sound of them was amazing, everytime we heard them coming around we'd run outside to watch.
A few years before I toured one of them when they came to town, it was really neat to be able to walk through the plane and see the cramped conditions that those guys fought in.
