dumb question....
sorry, not sure if this is even the right spot. Did anyone use mobil 1 synthetic oil and the gm trans fluid then change to royal purple? I did and was not happy at all. I ran slower at the track by .2 to .4 tenths of a second. Then switched back to the gm dextron III and the mobil synthetic and was back at the same times. I was wondering if anyone had the same problems. I was not happy with royal purple. I also have to mention it is a 6 speed.

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
ive never heard of anybody picking up or losing .4 tenths from oil.
weather and track conditions affect times the most.
consistant times with a 6 speed are a bitch also.2000 nhra edition formula

There are a ton of variables that could have effected your Et's, i highly doubt that changing your fluids had anything to do with it.

I dont know? I was not happy at all with the way the car ran with the royal purple fluids. Went back to the dextron III and the mobil 1. But was just wondering if anyone else did not like royal purple. Must be in my mind???????????????????????????? Car did run the same after I changed the fluids back though! And even with the six speed I ran consistent times. 13.2 13.1 13.2 13.1 at around 108-109. I was on street tires with a 60 foot times of 2.3-2.4. Need some drag radials!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told by speed inc, in schamburg ILL. that the 6 speed takes manual trans fluid from royal purple. But the 6 speed also will take the dextron III auto trans fluid. I did not use the auto fluid from royal purple. Just was not happy with the stuff. Kinda weird, I dont know. I went back to the dextron III and am happy again.

It's not the fluid change. It's the driver.

I had my tranny rebuilt from sixspeedsinc a sponsor on ls1tech and all they do is rebuild the t-56 and have one of the worlds fastest n/a ls1. Amber specifaclly said not to use royal purple as it seemed to wear down components faster they only recommended mobil 1 or dexron.
