Porting the MAF
I read installuniversitys write up on porting the MAF. Is this a good mod to do or does it just cause more problems?

it's a 50/50 thing. it might help, it may cause a lean condition. here's a dyno from the wife's car. put the vinci MAF ends on. picked up 2 rwhp peak and 8 rwhp after peak.
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

Sounds like i should avoid that then. Not just something you can put back together since theres a lot of cutting. Thanks for the advice

i'm a little confused about this? i read pulling out the screen on a car that has a curved air intake is no good but on cars where the air enters straight in it's okay? so why does everyone say don't do it?

Well i would say dont do it because when i had my intake off my trans am there was some junk caught in the screen. Including a big piece of grass, and this was on a stock intake box.

avoid the problems and look for power elsewhere....in example the P&P of the throttle

The reason the screen is in there is to "straighten the incoming air", Since our cars have a straight shot there is no need for it, although removing it wont do much for ya. Not really worth the time, and like said above it does catch some cool stuff befor it goes into the motor. I think they stopped puttin the screens in the vettes in 01 or 02.
