    stock hurst v.s. B&M v.s. 5.0

what's the main difference? is the stock hurst equivilant to the B&M ripper? i know they all have their differences, but just trying to get a feel. would a stock hurst shifter be like an aftermarket hurst?

No the aftermarket has "travel stops" which means you have adjustable stops that keep you from bending the shift forks due to over travel. Not to mention the inner spring tension is usually higher to aid in shifting.
I would have to say in my opion stay away from the B&M Ripper I don't care for it.
The Pro 5.0 is way better and will aid in your power shifting for sure.
I.ve been banging gears for 15 years so I'm not talking shit!

The factory Hurst was a waste of $325 when I ordered it with my car. I replaced it only a couple months after picking the car up. As for shifter choice, I've been using Pro 5.0s (have one in my current Z28) since my Mustang days and can vouch that they make awesome shifters.

I had a Pro 5.0 and didn't like it. Sold it and put the stock Hurst back in.

Wow. I can't even imagine that. Did you at least put a short stick on? The factory Hurst was terrible for me...

The Pro 5.0 is the best. But I use a factory hurst with short stick. It works great for the $35 I paid for it.
