Stupid windshield....
Haven't driven the Trans Am in 2 weeks. So I back it out to wash it and run it a little bit.
Windshield has a crack....from top to bottom.Guess it is expected....it is only on the original 9 year old windshield.
Thing is, the car never moved...sat in the garage.
Now I have to take it to work Friday to get it replaced at my girl's price (dealership).
I love driving on expired tags.

I thought you were worried about driving it because you wouldn't pass emissions either, the expired tag is just icing on the cake

Shut up Dan.
You just happen to live outside the lovely emissions area.

It's the cross I have to bear.
So what is it about your place that causes the windshields to crack? Too much sealant?

that's messed up. i see no impact point at all. whats the weather been like: too dry, too cool, low humidity, too hot? windshields dont just crack without the help of someone or mother nature...

Been hot and dry...
I figured it was a matter of time since it was 9 years old anyways.

Getting an OEM piece for $140.
Things are a little tight right now with the new baby, so that is the only option.

There was probably an impact point near the edge in the black frit band and with the hot cool cycle of day to night probably caused it. The same thing just happened to one of my customers, she went out of town for the weekend and when she got back the previously repaired crack had grown about 5 more inches. The car never moved. Novus autoglass. I wish I could sell my windows that cheap. We have pretty high freight prices.
Are they installing Lof brand glass? Lof is the brand of the original windshields. What ever you do do not allow them to use a brand called XYG. That is one of the thinnest and poorest quality glass I've ever seen.

There is no impact point. I wish there was.
I will ask them what glass is going in.

I had that happen to my 93 Z28....pulled it outside. It sat for a few minutes, then sprayed water from the hose on the car to wash it and CRACK.
You got owned by the heat!
