How do I send pets home?
I'm stationed in California and I'm driving back to Texas in 3 months. Does anyone know how to send my pets home? I've heard that I can fly them back but I've also heard that this can be very expensive. Can someone let me know what to do about this? Thank you

Depends on the pet(s)... I take my English parakeet with me in the car or on a plane as a carry on. Airlines have strict regulations for pets in cargo in terms of temperature/weather conditions and such. Can't you take them in your vehicle? Are you talking hampsters, tarantulas, snakes, gerbils, rabbits, cats, dogs, or horses? It makes a difference as to your options...

Perhaps a little roof mounted travel rack? Cats usually hate to travel but twenty hours if you have air conditioning will be less traumatic than a day at the airport at a hundred bucks a pop in searing heat, plus the expense of "special" airline approved travel containers... Even a redneck quality blanket, some rope and bungie cords, and a trabvel boc from U-Haul would be less money and if it was wrapped securely in plastic and properly packaged ypu could put your clothes and tower on the roof. It would look like ass but hey, it's a pne way trip and I doubt Hollywood witll be taking your picture along the way.
