continuing headlight problem
hey guys, ive been battling these lights for about a month now. both motors were going bad, gears stripped, ect. i got a great deal on two brand new motors, i installed them no problem. they worked like a dream for a couple weeks, then it rained, since then the left headlight came up halfway for a couple days, after that, it doesnt come up at all, the light turns on, but theres absolutely no movement. the right one still works fine, but i have no idea what to do about the left one. any suggestions??

This may sound stupid but my headlight sticks sometimes and I have to go out and manually loosen it. Give it a try, its not hard just a PITA.

the motor was brand new, and if the connector was loose, then wouldnt it cause the light to not turn on as well?

The light itself has its own connector. So still possible loose connector on the motor. also, just because you bought it brand new, doesn't always guarantee that it isn't defective. Best bet, if you still have the receipt, take it back and get another new one. Should have some kind of like at least a 30-90 day warranty.

Perhaps the nylon gears stripped out completly and you need to replace them? Have you popped open the cover of the window motor to check the gear itself? I dunno, its possible the rain lent in destroying the gear, I know I found a narsty dirt/water/rust mixture when I opened up my motor.
Other than that, I suppose it is possible the rain got water where it shouldn't have been...

the lights do not have their own connector. Low beam, high beam and headlight motor are on one connector.
