Looking for a good shelf system.

I'm about to move into a community dorm and leave my apartment on campus. Currently I'm running an Onkyo/Cerwin Vega 5.1 setup in my room. Their is simply not enough room for the large floor standing speakers I currently own. I'm looking for something with a lot of sound and some deep bass. Their is no point in really looking for something with high quality sound since their are very few shelf systems that can produce quality sound when compared to a component system.

Like I said I just need something for a dorm room, so basically the louder the better. The last mini system I owned was an aiwa system when I was 12 years old so I really don't know much about todays shelf systems. If you have any more suggestions feel free to make a post.

if size is a concern the Bose wave sounds damn good for its size. i dont care for Bose really but if you could find a good used one on ebay it gets plenty loud and sounds good
