Anyone ever knock the window off track by slamming the door too hard?
At least I think that's what happened. Yesterday morning when I got to work, I shut the door (sometimes I accidentally slam it - darn heavy doors) and I heard a "pink-pink-pink" sound like a little piece of something had fallen off onto the ground. I looked around but didn't see anything. I had left the windows cracked a little bit for ventilation, etc. When I went to lunch I rolled both windows down a little more, didn't notice anything strange. Then after I parked I rolled the passenger's side window up, no problem, then when I hit the up button for the driver's side window, the window didn't move and I heard this "clang clang clang" as if a gear had been stripped.
The weird thing was it would still roll down just fine, but then I had to manually pull the window back up. When I got home last night, it wouldn't work at all, up or down.
The good thing is the door's already been off because I've had to replace both of those window motors, so at least I'll know what it should look like and finding what broke shouldn't be that difficult. *sigh* This poor car.

Well I was going to work on it last Saturday, but I wanted to get the thermostat changed at the same time, and since it's not going to be as simple as I thought it was (and since I don't have the new one back from a friend of mine yet), that got put off along with the window. The stat is still going to have to wait, if I don't get mine back by next weekend I'm just going to go buy a new one, but my fear is it won't solve the problem. It's probably junk in the radiator or it's going out entirely. It behaves itself for the most part between here and work though, so it's not anything that has to be done right now.
I am going to go ahead and look at the window this afternoon because it's just damn annoying.I'll let you know later today how that went.
