risking detonation
SO I have a bone stock 99 Z28, soon to have tons of engine mods, new tires and a new rearend. Only question i have is if I run a 100 wet shot of nitrous or above on 91 will I risk detenation. I mean when I say above I mean 125 shot, I know i prob have to run 100 or 110 for anything above 125. Right?

you will be just fine at both 100 and 125 shot. I have only ever used 91-93 octane gas in my car and have been all the way up to a 175 single stage shot. what I would recommend however is that if you do decide to go higher than that 125 shot is that you upgrage your fuel pump. a simple inline walbro would do just fine for ya. on top of that just the usual safety devices.. WOT switch, Fuel Pressure safety switch, and in a manual a window switch as well

retarding your timing can be a good idea but isn't completely necessary. on my car I have a hypertech tuner and that can be fatal to your engine if you run either performance tune from them since it advances your timing. I generally just return my computer to stock performance settings and stock timing to run nitrous and haven't had any issues at all. just make sure your timing isn't advanced for any reason. and yes the colder plugs are a good idea. thanks for mentioning it I normally forget to add that into the mix.
Alright... I'm starting it now. Try not to piss yourself.
