You would need to do some hard cleaning to your windows system to get it clean, Probably easier to do a reload. Use could use a live Linux CD for the mean time, try www.damnsmalllinux.org or www.knoppix.net those should get you going.

you guys are assholes. don't do that, it'll deleate every file on your computer. just get ahold of windows xp asap and reboot it fully. what i do to be sure there's not one file left, i go into DOS and type "del C:" then reinstall windows through DOS. Maybe download a ZoneAlarm trial and google "antivirus scan".

if you really want to make yourself insane, find out where the program is. Check with ctrl-alt-del for any suspicious filenames that may be running, check regedit, win.ini, startup on program list, and theres one more file for bootup but not sure. Good luck.

Lavasoft SE is the only true and *clean* spyware removal.
You should install it and use it daily.
You will notice your computer will run a lot faster after daily cleaning of the registry.
You should be running Norton 2005 / 2006 which is XP freindly.

See this link for the exact spyware which actually may be a virus.
    http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/hom...dex_virus.html

Some virus / spyware's actually require manual removal and you can do this by isolating and removing it by plugging in the exact address of the virus / spyware into your search under start and deleting it.

I had to do this when I picked up Spyfalcon which is an extremely malicious program that even XP and Norton couldn't get rid of.

Sometimes you may even have to remove programs and reinstall them.

Always have a restore point (XP) so you can move back to a point where your OS was running perfect .. I call this the *poor mans virus removal*
