Jack Churchill - this is one of those strange but true. Only person to charge the Nazis with a Bow & Arrow as well as a Claymore sword.

That is BA. That would have been me too. My father gave me my first sword when I was 4. I remember bringing swords into kindergarten for show n tell. I have 30ish today. As well as many other types of hand to hand weapons.

my uncle had 2 bad ass swords he brought back from Thailand when he was over there for viet nam. As a kid I would sneak them out and I was a bad ass ninja in the back yard. Both of those just burned up in a house fire he had a couple years ago. I sure would've like to have had one.

I have one Katana and a Claymore. I at one time wanted to collect them, still do, just hard to find a quality sword that isn't from China.
Baltimore Knife & Sword make some awesome stuff. Last 2 yrs they have this youtube channel where they make fan request from movies, games, anime.

Good swords aren't cheap. Decorative swords are. Very few swords from china are battle ready.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Just like their ammunition. About 10 years ago I bought some Chinese 9mm for target practice because they were cheap ($4.95/50). Well, I had ~5 primers not fire (even though they bore a mark from the firing pin striking them) from every box of 50. I got a lot of practice clearing my loaded weapons that day...
67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...

Your in Cali Jim...you're not suppose to have firearms.....
Some things I won't go cheap on. Ammo & firecrackers for example. Hate to have something blow up in my face or hand.

Me personally, I'd want the weapon that is most likely to ensure my survival and inflict maximum damage to the enemy. It's cool what he did from a symbolic standpoint though.
Kind of reminds me of the Indiana Jones scene though

While a sword is cool, it is always preferable to have something that barks here and bites over yonder.
Demanding something free on top of a discount is just being a Democrat

I'm going to guess that the reason this guy made it through the war is because the Germans saw him coming, and decided to shoot all the other guys first that were carrying guns that were an actual threat.
and yeah I read the Wikipedia page on him.

When he asked the Germans why they didn't shoot they thought he was crazy and wasn't a threat.
Also I agree with the "never bring just a knife to a gun fight but always bring a gun to a knife fight"

They should have put him up against the Japanese. Then he could have won some actual sword fights... or lost lol.
