Silver- Mexican killed my car
What happened to music?
At work the other day they were playing some new "rock" songs and i felt like stabbing myself in the eyes with a box cutter. When i drive home from work if i have the sirius off i listen to the local "rock" station and all the songs sound like some shit that should be on a movie about highschool kids trying to get laid. I mean it fuckin' sucks.
There were shitty bands out when i was in high school (blink 182), but when you turned on the radio you heard Nirvana, STP, Rage, Soundgarden....you know...shit with balls. Everything i'm hearing now is a bunch of love songs sung by pussies. Where are the "Heart Shapped box"....."Jeremy"....."Black Hole Sun" songs at?
I know good bands are out there, but they get like no airtime around here on local radio. Thank god i have Sirius, but even the new shit they play on that is pussyfied. It seems the only good new music is the shit bands that were around in the 90's are putting out. Not always though....the new Rob Zombie is a flop.
On a side note.....the new buckcherry kicks ass!

I've been wondering what happened to music since the 60's but I'm an old fart.
Those were the glory days...it's never been the same since, but that's just me.

Ever heard of a CD player?
Only time I listen to the radio is when I have too - I work part time at a radio station.

Concerning the last 4 years....
check out spineshank's "Self destructive pattern" and Nothingface's "Skeletons".
Of course don't forget about koRn's greatest hits Volume 1. Orgy has put out GREAT shit also.

You should hear the new music in the mainstream country genre...
It would be on par with you guys having to listen to Air Supply 24/7.
Complete gayness.

I used to play top 40 country for the past year for a local country station.
Trust me, you don't gotta tell me how gay country music IS and ALWAYS HAS BEEN.

The other day I turned it to the local rock station(s), and all they were playing is Greenday, Yellowcard, All-American rejects, and Fall Out Boys. What is this bull shit? Give me a break.
By the way, excellent thread!

The only relatively new bands i can think of that i like are The White Stripes and The Killers (i didnt like them until i heard the cd) But im totally with you that it all sucks pretty much w/exception of some 90s bands that are still going strong. Can't wait to hear the new RHCP album. Their new single thats out rocks some ass.

There's only two radio stations I listen to, and both play hard rock from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. I gave up on new music a long time ago, it sucks. Only good music to come out of the 90's was Alice in Chains, Pantera, and Rage Against the Machine. The rest isn't worth a shit.

what about
disturbed
linkin park
slipknot
system of a down
godsmack
papa roach
i listen to just about everything but im really tired of fm any more. They play greenday all day, sucks. Every radio station sucks, they all play the same 30 songs. Favorite band would have to be Van Halen but they have more songs then running with the devil, panama and jump. And thats all you hear same goes for Led Zeplin, love their music but if i have to hear stairway to heaven one more time im going to break the radio. There is no varity, seems like everything is on a loop. Even the request hour, who the hell picks Van Halen running with the devil when they played it 5 times already that day, think its a scam and set up.Last edited by LS1WS6; 04-17-2006 at 07:00 PM.
