Interested in buying a motorcycle
I'm in the market for a 07 and up 600 cc sportbike. I've always liked R6's but havent rode a newer model. I also like Gixxer's. Can somebody school me on the best 600?

There is no best 600, the big 4 are all so close in performance its insane. They will all be about as fast as the next and any difference will be because one rider is better than the other. You jsut have to decide which one you think looks the best and which one you are most comfortable on as there are slight position changes between the four, even though they are very slight differences. I have had 3 cbrs but I always wanted a Triumph 675

Unless you get the top dog R6 you will be getting 1999 technology (R6S = early R6).
They are all good. If you buy one get one with the best tires. They make more of a difference than the brand.
If it was me find a decent mileage 636 instead, roughly same HP but a little more tq.

The R6S is not the same as the 1999, its more like the parts from the 03 r6 mixed with some new parts from the newer r6 but with the 03-05 body style instead of the new 06+ r6 body. The 1999 r6 was a carb engine bike, the throttle, forks, brakes and suspension are all different. I would ride with mostly yamaha nuts, one of my best friends has a 99 with 40k miles on it, another had a 04 r6 and another had a 07 r6S. Both the 04 and 07 R6S were about as fast as the other. The 99 was fast too but it has many mods done to it. Many people actually prefer the R6S to the R6R.

i love my 02 r6. Its not stock by no means but i have more bottom end torque the the 03-05s. Me and a buddy raced, he has a 07 r6s and he got me top end but i pulled off the line.

The styling is pure early 2000s from the front (talking about the first gen R6S) and its the bitch bike of the 600cc's. I cant remember what year they pu the FI on the R6 but every one of them I ever rode was gutless down low, just like the R1 when it was a 5-valve per jug. Yeah at 10k it was mean but down low it felt like it couldnt get out of its own way, but again that was back to back with a ZX10 so go figure.

Get yourself an older GSXR 750 and be done with it.

You can buy a BRAND NEW R6S for 6k here in PA at Track-n-Trail. People need to learn how to shop. They had left over CBR1ks for 7k.

Also check on insurance rates for them.
Although all will be high, there may be one that is prohibitively more expensive than the others, which could help narrow your decision since performance is so close.

I vote SV650S........easy to ride, it will handle as good as you will ever ride, and its fun to get on the back wheel without revving through the roof. Plus its cheaper to insure.
