Stock LS1 Which Cam to Go With?
Hey all, I recently spun a rod bearing in my 01 TA and am having the engine rebuilt by a local shop by me. I figured while the engine is out, I would go the cam route. I dont want to throw too much money at it so i decided againt heads. It is a toy, not a daily driver, so I am wanting something pretty mean. I had the M6 built up by Tick Performance about 10k ago and already have the LT's and Borla Catback. It has the LS6 intake and a Lid. I mainly want to get some suggestions about which cam to go with based on experience to wake it up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have not already there is a sticky in this section about cams that is helpful. There are so many cams for these motors and most everyone loves the one they chose.

Honestly it personal preference!! Go on YouTube an type on some cams and listen to the way the car idles. Its what I did!!! I ended up choosing the MS4. I forget the other one I was comparing it too. I wanna say the 239cam
The sound of your piss hitting the urinal.......yea it sounds feminine!

well if you are sticking with stock heads go for a 224-228/ 228-232 cam. best bet, call Texas speed and performance and see what they would suggest for the mods you have and the gains you are looking for.

A 228/232 would be a great cam for you and stock heads or even like a 230/234. I have the 228r and I wish I would have gone bigger and a split duration. Dont choose a cam off the idle. Any cam can sound like a monster it all depends on the lsa its ground on.

I'd look into a 226/234 grind from eps cams they have been makin great power and still allow a nice driving car. Another cam that has proven itself in these cars in the torquer v2 from tsp. Go on you tube and type then in to see which one you like.

Keep the lift under .600" and go with a wider split with the stock heads, IMO a good cam would be a TSP 233/239 with a 111lsa.
