Which is better for a daily driver a bolt on sub-frame connector or a weld on sub-frame connector?

Do you have a preference of 2 point or 3 point? pro's and con's?

If you know how to weld, or know someone who does - many prefer weld in. With the bolt in, you need to check the bolts to make sure they are not loosening up. You can always weld in the bolt in style though. Some prefer bolt in, if they want to return the car to stock at some point.

As for 2 or 3 point, my opinion is stronger is always better. But 2 point will probably suit you just fine. If your goals for the car change, and you've installed 2 point weld in - it would be much more difficult to change over to a 3 point.

I have 2 pt BMR box style that are welded in. I also have the BMR Trak Pak torque arm. The crossmember that the front of the torque arm mounts to is welded to each SFC so it's kind of like having 3 pts

My set-up is strictly geared for hauling ass down a straight line though

In addition to this I would add that if you have a convertible 3 point are best.


Bolt ons are great in that if you don't have access to a welder you can just bolt it on till you do.

I went straight to weld on because I knew I was going to so why wait.

weld in is the way to go....why would you take them out unless you knew you were going to get another car exactly the same.

mine are welded in front and use the existing trailing arm bolts for the rear.

Thanks I wouldn't wanted welded if it was a 2 point because I may want to go to a 3 point.

3 point is slightly stronger. With the addition of a stronger tunnel brace, you tie the whole car together.

I have 2 point BMRs and like them alot. Very good fit and finish. When i bought mine people told me the 3 points werent worth it so i got them 2 pt

most exhaust shops will weld in a set of sfc for a decent price.

I just took off my 2-points and put on 3-points. I was worried about my body mounted torque arm ripping out my floor pan, so I got the SFCs that connect with the torque arm mounting points. Weld-in is the way to go. Also you only have to weld the front...the rear and middle bolt into existing holes and the SFCs come with the bolts.

I've also heard of people going with bolt in to see how they like the fit and feel and then having the bolt in SFC's welded in at a later point.

my weld in connectors really tightened up the CETA.
