how many computers do'es a 99 fbody have?

how many computers do'es a 99-02 fbody have?

    I'm thinking there are 4.

1.ECM engine control module located in engine bay back pass. side.

2.transmission controller located (I believe) under engine dr. side near front.

3.cruise control located (I believe) under engine pass. side near front.

    4.VATS located under dash.

    Thanks

All of which are controlled by the main PCM (#1 on your list) if I am not mistaken.

Heard it called several different things. ECU, PCM, ECM, etc...
I consider them all the same thing.

To be honest, I can't answer your question. I know of many sensors, but just one 'computer.'

    OK one computer

OK let's say one main computer (like a CPU centrel processing unit of a actuale computer). the ECM in engine bay Pass. side.

then let's say the others are PCM (printed circuit broad modules) that control vitaule stuff nessasary to run all parts of the car.

I'm trying to figure out how much stuff is connected to the wireing harness for like an engine swap into a non F-body car.

seams like alot of stuff on these cars

Powertrain Control Module, Body Control Module, Electronic Brake Control Module (abs computer),Sensing and Diagnostic Module (airbag computer), Cruise Control Module, Headlamp Opening Door Actuator Control Module, Daytime Running Lamp Control Module.

Thats all I can think of. There isn't a separate trans control module and I don't think there is a vats computer either.

No, you only need the PCM for an engine swap into your Madza truck.
