Painted calipers
So I painted my calipers and figured I'd be oh so nice and do a write up on it, so here ya go! I decided to use Dupli-Color caliper paint because you don't have to tape off so much and worry about over spray. It cost $17.99 at Auto Zone.

First off my front calipers were painted when I got the car but they didn't use high temp paint so the paint peeled off. I sanded them down and this is what I got.

Next thing I did was tape off a few places I didn't want to get paint on.

After taping it off you jump right in and start applying the paint. I did 3 coats to make sure everything was covered evenly. You can paint them without removing the calipers so it was much easier. This is after all the coats of paint had dried.

I let everything dry for meh 4-5 hours before putting the wheels back on. The entire process took about 8 hours including drying time. This is the finished product.

The next thing I'm gonna do is paint the brackets black. I was gonna do it at the same time I did the calipers but I ran out of daylight and time.

Hey thanks a lot for doing a write up on this. They turned out great. Im going tomorrow to buy the paint. Im going to use the gray/silver color (from duplicolor) so it matches what stock is. Also planning on buying the caliper cleaner. Was overspray an issue at all?

O yea and what for grit sandpaper did you use?

I started out with 320 grit and once the majority of the old paint was off I used 500. The kit comes with the paint, brush, stir stick, and brake cleaner. If you have an air compressor it makes it so much easier if you're removing old paint. All you do is soak the caliper with brake cleaner and it made my old paint bubble up and I sanded it and hit it with compressed air and it came right off.

Yea I went to Advance Auto and all they had in the paint on kind was red. Im going to look around and see if i cant find a gray/silver color to use to keep with the looking "stock" factor.

In reply to your message: What mainly got me into cars was my Uncle bringing home a brand new gold Firebird in 98 and my first car was a 99 TA. I got into drag racing after a while and stopped after I totaled my TA. Now I have a 2001 Camaro RS so I don't really drag it since it's a V6. I just baby the hell outta her and take her to shows all the time. I've gotten several awards at local shows so I can't get enough of it. It's funny because no one thinks women know anything about cars, well boy are they wrong! I work on my car on my own and do pretty much anything to it unless it gets down to an electrical issue.

Nah theres a bunch of girls out there that know alot about cars. Yea i take mine to car shows as well. One reason of painting the calipers i feel im lacking in the wheel department. Im still looking for Silver/gray brush on but cant find it anywhere.
