tan- 2000 gmc sierra
??
i have a 2000 gmc sierra and i replaced the stock 4.8 with a 5.3 block that has all ls1 internal parts eagle rods flat top pistons etc..i have z06 stage 8 heads with shorty headers, programmer, cold air intake, elcetric fans, an 200 shot nitrous. My problem is i have the stock 4.8 intake manifold, stock fuel rails and injectors and my computer has been flashed for this engine. im trying to find out if the ls6 intake manifold will bolt up with this engine and what mods will i have to make for it to work perfectly. Also can anyone tell me what the hole at the front of the ls6 manifold is for because i have found some manifolds with the hole and some without, what do i need to do if i get a manifold with that hole?

Without seeing pictures, I believe the hole you are talking about is for the EGR. That hole can be filled with expansion plugs or a few other things to block it off.
There are LS6 intakes with the hole for the EGR but they are not a widely populated part. I would suspect the majority of the intakes are you seeing with the hole for the EGR are probably LS1 intakes, not LS6 intakes.

Here is a good way to determine if its an LS1 or LS6 intake:

LS6 intake is quite a bit better than an LS1 intake.

Pewter- 2002 Trans am WS6 T-top
I heard that there was a fast product for a truck but can not remember where I read it. What I seen around in my parts is that the fast/ ls1/ ls6 intake is used with out the stock cooling fan. The cooling fans from a newer model are used. The bracket and the dual fans are a factory fit. The only obstacles are the wiring and ducting. Might want to check out ls1 tech forum on the truck section.

If you put on a car intake you will need a car accessory drive.
Your best options are either a stock 6.0 truck intake, or FASTs truck intake.
