I've read about this.
Great thing to have if the Chinese army comes over here riding on armored tigers and Komodo dragons.
Otherwise, WTF?

20 rounds is around 26 bucks. If the Gooberment uses it the cost will be much lower for them. Not to mention it will be produced in larger quanities. I don't think they want it for the footsoldiers as much as the ones that are on roadblocks and in convoys and such. the ones that are more likely to deal with suicide bomber cars. something that will shut down and stop a possible explosive filled car that is coming at you without alot of collateral damage is what they are looking for.
as for civilian use It would rock in home defense.

Jesus!!
I just read up on the .50 BMG round. That thing's energy puts all the African Big Game cartridges to shame.
Maybe that's what I need to fill my large caliber hole in my collection.

That is the ammo that you get for the beowulf. the 300 - 334 grain is about 26 bucks a box and the 400 grain is about 44 bucks. you can also get the ammo by the case which is 200 rounds.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
the 50 beowulf is nice because its a lighter round, and fits on the AR-15 platform, its a heavy bullet with decent powder, but it isnt necked down, which doesnt help in the pressure dept.
its devastating as hell close range. its official max effective range is 200 yards, where as most over your big bores are out past 1000
Alexander Arms creates purpose driven rounds. the 50 beowulf was designed to be use at check points in Iraq, so if someone tried to blow through, they could fuck em up.
