00' cobra kill
Picked up the SS a couple of days ago. My brother and I caught a movie tonight and on the way home I was just prayin someone would want to go. I'm sittin at the light waitin for it to change, after it does... I can see a stang in my rear-view. I gave it a little and he pulled up next to me. He gave me a nod and punched it from about a 50 roll. I was crawlin him on a wide outside turn and when it straigtend out I gained about a car on him in between 90 120 or so... give or take. Anyways, first kill... couldnt have asked for more. Never really noticed all the rice burners until I was in an f-body. Hooked up with the f-body crowd and watched a WS6/100shot hold his own against an R6. The bike got him on the launch, but didn't get much after that.

Good kill, sounds about right for racing one on the roll. They are a REALLY good race, and that's what makes it fun
Oh yeah, it was either a 99 or 01, there was no cobra in 2000, just 300 cobra Rs. If it said mustang on the rear bumper it was a 99 and if it said cobra it was an 01. Hopefully you never saw the rear bumper though. . .lol

sounds like a good race. nice kill. You're lucky. It'll be another month or two before I get my Camaro back on the road. Damn Minnesota winters!

Good Kill, a properly driven 99/01 Cobra is a good race for a LS1

hence the OR... had the conjunction AND been used... it would have implied it was a model in both years... OR is uses when it is one, but no the other... you need more PBS in your life...

the most Ive ever seen the 99/01's make on a dyno stock is 272.(average is 265) I think gears, and a few other small bolt ons and youve got yourself a race.

Yeah, because it's a high revver and the LS1 makes more low-end, the edge goes to the 6-spd LS1 against a 99/01 cobra every time. If the cobra has gears, it'll be a lot closer. Either way, I've seen these cobras run 13.3s bone-stock at silver-dollar raceway, and I'm sure they've run better. I think that'd be more than a race for a lot of LS1 F-bodies.
There was something wrong with the '99s that ford put out a recall for. When they were new, the best guys were getting out of stock '99 Cobras was 13.5s.
Just my 2 cents,
Chris
