Update on the Sled....its maybe critical condition
Well, we started tearing apart the sled yesterday to replace the base gaskets. To all that can't remember, I was doing 110 mph last winter and it wouldn't go any faster, so I did 3 seconds throttle, 3 seconds off and the gaskets couldn't handle it I thought. We got the gaskets replaced and when pulling it over it was still pulling antifreeze into the cylinders. SO......we have one more thing to try and thats to pull the engine and replace the crank case gaskets. If that doesn't work then the engine has a crack some where and I am done for the up coming sledding season

My step-son bought a used Polaris something sled last year. Just had to have it. The first time he rode it, the low coolant/overheat light came on. He filled it up and then rode it a couple of more times before finally complaining that it was losing coolant. I took one peek under the hood and immediately spotted Permatex around the spark plug holes. The prior owner took him for a ride by the look of things...
I haven't owned a snowmobile for the past 25+ years. Was cured of that habit for life!

110 mph is moving but seen alot faster. I will say that I finally was comfortable with the sled/snowmobile to push it that fast. It all depends on the snow conditions and how you are with them.

oh yea dont get me wrong 110 is dangerously fast on a snowmobile, let alone anything. but most newer sleds go that fast stock

We found what was wrong with the sled and it can be fixed
for about $300 or $1000 if I want to upgrade some stuff...FUCKING MOD BUG
The waterpump bearing took a shit and the seal that seperates the lower end and such let a shit load of antifreeze into the lower end/cylinders. Thank god the cylinders are plated and can't rust. Lets hope the lower end is alright, but we soaked it in straight oil and it didn't run for more then a sec or two so I think we be alright
