or just get this and do it yourself. super easy hookup. only takes about 20 min. hooks up in the back of your hu, and the ipod is connected via usb. you keep the use of your scroll wheel, and can also seek with the hu. i bought one and love it. no issues, perfect sound quality, and only a usb wire to run, comes with everything you need. however it does take the place of your cd changer, (if you have one or even use it), dont see why you would need one with a possible 15000 songs at your finger tips. hope this helps.

Cost me $35 with shipping and I have ipod, cd, cassette plus regular radio, works fine for me and believe it or not I still do use the cd changer on occasion.
Whatever works for you, this dude stuff works for me, I think he came up with this long before most of these adapters were around. However, the vast majority of guys just yank all the stock stuff and trash it, I bought the car, yanked out the $2k+ 5.1 surround sound system out and put the stock monsoon back in, but my car is a weekend toy so its cool and it works fine for me.

Did the ISGM74 really work? Everywhere I look, it shows this as non-compatible, & the only one that I have referenced back(at least for 99) has been the USA Spec PA11G45.
I went to 2 local Best Buys, getting sick of the FM Modulator crap, one store didn't even help me, & when the other store I went to looked into it, told me this would not work......

you have to take the head unit apart and install it inline with the CD player audio signal wiring. So you need a CD in the head unit working when using the iPod; it just tricks the head unit into thinking its receiving the CD signal whereas if you have the iPod (or anything that uses a 1/8" jack) hooked up, it bypasses the CD and send that audio signal. CD player works fine if you don't have anything hooked up.

it is cheap, and if you dont mind moding your factory hu, then i guess its a great mod. i didnt mind spending the cash on an interface. its nice because the ipod hooks up with a usb, so it charges your ipod, and you can control your ipod through the hu. to be honest, i didnt know anything about this before i purchased mine, but im still pretty confident i would just go with the convenience of the interface. just my opinion.

If you have a cd changer you don't need to take your head unit apart - you can use the external cd changer connection. Here's a post on tech that explains the process - see post #3. It works as I use this in my car. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/stereo...0-gm9-aux.html Mods - if it's problem to post this link, please delete.
