shortest short shifter
Well im looking to get a short shifter with the shortest throw but at the same time im looking to replace the stick on it to a shorter length. I think with the B&M you cant do that and its fixed, ive had a Pro 5.0 and it wasnt bad especially with a shorter angled stick but was pretty knotchy. Ive also had the stock factory hurst and hated it would sometimes miss 3rd. Whats a really good short shifter thats extremely short on the throws but i can replace the handle as well with a shorter one. Right now i have the stock shifter with an aftermarket stick that ive cut another half an inch off so its fairly short but the throws are not short enough for me.

for comparison. Here's the B&M Rip Shift. Height was significantly shorter (Have before and after pics if you want) but the feel of shifting was the biggest improvement. All the slosh was gone and it felt firm to shift gears. I'm sure any aftermarket would have improved feel. Only one I've had sofar.

Benner, My shift knob actually sits just about if not lower then yours but i like the height as long as the throws are shorter. I should take a pic of mine and post it as well, i like the feel but suprisingly it does not feel at all rubbery or like a stock shifter its knotchy and feels pretty good but wanting it to be shorter throws. Ill take pics of it tonight or tomorow and post it. MGW ive heard alot off and by the description the guy gave sounds like my old Pro 5.0

ok got a couple of pics, my shift knob is not all the way twisted to the bottom if i did that it would be too low and hit the console so i had to loosen it several threads to get it to clear when i shift into 2nd, 4th and 6th. Basically i can go lower with a round ball shift knob or a different style shift knob. I think if i had a short shifter i wouldnt have to worry about hitting the console since the throws are shorter then i can go as low as i can on the same stick i have on the car.
