Installing spark plugs
i am going to change the plugs in my 98 camaro ss, i heard its a real pain and i was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks that could make it go a lil easier. i took out one of the plugs today to look at it and it looks worn pretty bad and i looks to be the wrong plug. its an AC 41-931.

Well I just did mine yesterday and I removed the exact same plug. I think it's the stock plug.

dont be intimidated by it, its really not as hard as it looks. i just did mine for the first time about three weeks ago. just take your time and follow the instructions on installuniversity. i tried to get the #8 plug from the bottom but i couldnt(no lift/ramps) i just took off the passenger side coilpack to give myself a little room and you can finesse(*sp) it outta there. good luck and i would change the wires since your already gonna be wright there.

pull the coil packs off the passenger side and it'll give you much more room to work in there. If I remember correctly when I had stock manifolds on I also pulled the a.i.r. hose off the manifold for room also. A swivel extension will greatly help you with that #8 plug.

unfortunately your packs are bolted individually to the valve cover being a 98. It is a major PITA the first time. But yeah, remove the AIR injection to the manifold. Makes life easy.

I took it for a spin today and immediately noticed the improved throttle response. I'd swear it feels a bit faster now too...
I didn't remove my coil packs ('98) but I probably will next time around. I did remove the AIR tubes though. I don't see how anyone could do it with that in the way. I used a spark plug socket with a 3/4" socket attached to it for the #8 plug (passenger side closest to firewall). I tried using my swivel socket, but could not get it to snap into my ratchet. I had to do it 3 ratchet clicks at a time...
