light problems on 99 z28

i just bought a z28 and my lights (all of them) flicker constantly. i know the guy that had the car before me had a stereo and speakers he took, and the radio is from a junk yard. if anyone has any ideas, i would appreciate your input.

+1. That'd be great to find out. When I bought my car it did that (was real apparent at night) and I took it to the dealer to fix. They told me that was normal for the firebirds and he didn't know of anything to do. I figured it has to be a bad ground or something.

At least im not alone. Does your volt gauge stutter a bit too? This is my first LS1 and the volt gauge is 3/4 of the way up usually, id guess around 15.5 volts. I checked grounds and wiring, now the only thng i can think of is that my voltage regulator inside the alternator is screwed up. No one has replied to me on Z28camaro.com either...AH!

i think is ur alternator my does that everytime it gets wet from underside rain maybe a poddle even underspary car wash ls1 has the altrenator way low and is easier 2 get wet, im tryin 2 figure out how 2 cover it...

Mine flickers but only when I step on the brakes.

Think it is pretty common, mine will flicker when the ac is on, and can hear a slight click at same time..I remember someone said what it was, but nothing to worry about unless it is a constant flickering and then maybe bad ground, alternator etc.

That click you hear is the compressor clicking on. It probably gets a little dimmer when it clicks on.

My gauge dances ever soo slightly. Again, I had pointed it out to the dealer and he said it was normal. Not sure how that's normal, but sigh....
