Yes, it will. Power isnt really what is going to kill it (to a certain point). If you powershift it and beat the crap out of it on a regular basis, you could break it with less power. If this is a street car that doesnt get driven really hard, then you should be ok. If you're looking for a margin of safety, there are different levels you can take a T56 to. You can start with specific upgraded internals as synchros, shift forks, etc, and you can go all the way up to spending the big bucks on new gearsets, bigger input and output shafts, etc. You can spend 5000$+ on one if you really want to.

I have about 375 RWHP and my T-56 has NO issues with that kind of power. I would get a good aftermarket shifter.

Definitely get an aftermarket shifter! With my stock one I frequently missed 3rd while powershifting. Once I put in my Pro 5.0, it was a huge difference. For that power range though you should be fine with a stock T-56 (sans the shifter) but if there was anything I would change, it would be the synchros. The stock ones are made with paper in them, some carbon fiber ones would be good. You probably won't need the upgrade though.
2 heads are better than 1!
