08 cbr600rr VS 02 Firehawk
well I knew I wasn't going to win but I had to try it anyways, I let my buddy dirve my bike and I was in my car, I live in the county and the roads are long and stright with very little traffic, pulled out of the driveway and right away we could see a truck coming down the road so we crusie around the block to another good section of road and we're going about 45 and nodded at each other and took off and( my buddy has been riding bikes his whole life on and offroad) to my complete supprise the bike didnt' pull away at all untill 110 when I saw him shift into 5th race over---holy shit that was cool...

elaborate please. didn't pull away-- meaning you were nose to nose?
I don't mean to doubt your buddies riding ability, but are you sure he was in the correct gear?
I remember watching my Speedo climb up on my R6 and my speedo in my WS6 doesn't compare.
what mods on the LS1?

yeah he didn't pull away at all until 110--not sure what gear he was in when we started....we were only going 45 so I would think he was in second...and as far as I know it's a stock 2002 firehawk,

Terrible gear to start in. To high for first and to low in second. Still should have pulled away easily.....
All these bike stories lately are gettin a little fishy...96 Imp SS- 12.74@103, 1.74 60' out of fuel
06 AWD TB SS- 12.58@106, 1.76 60'

I don't think cars and cycles should even ever be considered in the same class. So you're crotch rocket is faster than my 3,000 pound car. Don't look at me like you're better than me. You're life expectancy drops 20 years every time you get on that death machine.

Are you sure your friend wasn't just playing with you till 110? It's been a while since I've been on a 600 but i'm thinking he would be going 110 in 3rd gear. Once he hit the power band in 2nd he would be long gone an 08 CBR 600rr is a mid 10 second bike with a really good rider. Most of these bike stories are complete BS. Unless you have a true 11 second car you are going to get blown away by any sport bike. You don't have to ride that well to make a 10 second bike blow the doors off a 12-13 second car.
