Dumb Questions
ill be getting a black T/A stock in a few weeks. I want to put the Ram Air hood on it now my dumb questions are these:
1-If i put the Ram air hood on with out the ram air intake (for the sake of keeping the engine bay 100% stock) if it rained would it effect anything in the engine bay? ( i know its a dumb question but i just had to ask)
2-If i install the Ram air intake, will i need to do a tune to the car or no?
Id really appreciate some help with these dumb questions. You see im used to Mustangs and im not sure if tech wise things are done differently with Trans Ams.
-Thanks in Advance!

The hoods will show no real performance gain under 100mph and even then it's marginal, they are for looks only. Just get a lid.

A: 1) By "ram air intake", I'll presume you are talking about the raised WS6 airbox (isn't much else it could be). If that's the case, then there'll be no difference w/ rain ingestion. IF any rain makes it past the hood baffles (less likely if the baffles are left in the hood, but still no reports of problems from those who have "de-baffled" their hoods), then your filter is going to get wet regardless of whether the airbox is a raised WS6 box or a standard low one. The rain baffles are in the hood, NOT the "ram air intake". And BTW, an aftermarket vs. stock LID has no effect on rain ingestion.
A: 2) NO.

that was on my 1st T/A... But the part of the hood where it drops down for the latch, just take a cutoff wheel, and remove both sides, so that air goes in thru the two openings in the bumper, thru this part of the hood, and into the airbox...
