is TB bypass is safe to do on a aftermarket TB??

just seeing if it will be ok, im sure its probly the same but i just read some instructions and they said make sure the lines of coolent are running....

I really doubt you'd have to have the coolant going. they probably said that so they wont be liable for people who live in really cold areas who need the coolant to heat up their throttle bodies. I bypassed my stock one and it's tottally fine.

I have a BBK 80mm, and i have a bypass. works great with no problems.

The only point I see in the bypass is it makes future TB removal cleaner/easier...there isn't any power gain IMO because the air moves through the TB too fast to heat up. Even if there's a slight gain it would be too small to measure on a dyno since no two pulls are the same anyway. End rant

Yea it'll be fine to do the bypass on your aftermarket TB

Yea it'll be fine to do the bypass on your aftermarket TB

WRONG about air moving to fast to heat up. If the TB is hot, the air going through it will heat up. What you said would be like saying "there is no need to put a blowed behind a heater because the air passing over the heater is moving to fast to be heated, so you would only be blowing cold air". That sounds silly doesn't it? So does the statement about the air going through the TB is moving to fast to be heated. That is why the TB has hot water passing through it. To heat it up so that it will heat the air as it passes through.

Now about the TB hot water by-pass. That was one of the first mods that I did to my car when I first bought it. Cooler air does makes more horsepower. So, yes with the TB by-pass mod you will get a little power increase. Probably not enough to measure, but any gain is a plus. Right? The TB by-pass mod is a good mod and it will help to get a little bit of the heat off the top of that nice LS-1 engine. The TB by pass mod will not cause you any problems. Even in zero weather conditions, my car starts and runs just fine. Do it to help cool down that TB and feed that fine LS-1 engine a stream of cooler air.

You're comparing a TB to a heater core? Sorry to break this to you but air being sucked into the engine moves a hell of a lot faster then air blown by the HVAC fan...which means there's less time for the air to be heated. Also the heater core is made so that all of the air going through it is touching multiple sides that are very close together...the core isn't a big ass empty circle like the TB is for a reason (maybe because it won't heat the air??) Coolant goes through the TB to prevent it from freezeing up..

Don't be mad because you went out and bought the kit for $20 that someone made for a $1 from any parts store
