Firebird-Camaro rear fender swap
I looked through every forum I could find and couldn't find an answer on this question. Sorry if it's already been asked, but.....Can I swap the rear fenders from a similar year Firebird onto my 2000 Z? Hopefully with minimal mods. My real concern in doing the swap is how the Camaro spoiler will mate with the Firebird fender.

Well, thanks to those of you who answered reasonably. Let me just explain what I am goin for here....I prefer the bulging curves of the Firebird fender (quarter) to that of the relatively straight Camaro stocker. So anybody got any ideas of a company that sells or could make a mild widebody style fender for the 4th gens?
Let me finish this off by saying I know that the taillights of the Firebird are different, but the Camaro lights are pretty easily modded into the slightly different shape. I was unaware that the fender is molded tho the body, if thats what you meant, but I think I could work around that somehow.....No offense meant to anybody, just explaining

lots of cutting and lots of welding. Not worth the time. If I were you, I'd go to a good body shop and have them stretch your rear quarters

those nice fat fenders(Quarter Panels) come with nice fat doors and fat fenders that match up with a sweet front bumper that needs a hood that will fit. In other words nothing in the lines of the Camaro will match up with any TA panels. you would be cheeper to go and buy a TA then trying to rice-graph some body panels onto your car that don't really fit.

or you could always buy the dick harrel rear 1/4 panels and have those put on. rather than spending $8K+ on chop/cut/rebuild/customization.
or do it different sell the camaro and buy a firebird and put a camaro front end on it.

The Dick Harrel panels are patch panels adhered to the stock quarter panels. I know this as I watched it being done in the company I worked for. Turned out pretty nice but to clarify there are no 'Harrel' quarters.

He's right about that...Those wide quarters were made by GMMG for the Harrel cars, but I called and they don't selll them
