no tricks that i know of. Just keep pulling.
Are they the original plugs/ wires. If so thats probably why its such a pain to get them off. When i bought my car they had never been changed in 70k miles and were a major bitch to pull off. So just keep at it!!

try this....
twist and turn while swearing. It seems to work for me when something is being a pain to get off. I've also found that the more swear words you throw at it the faster it'll come off. You may have to try different combinations of swear words and don't be afraid to combine 2 or 3 that normally wouldn't go together. Auto parts seem to like the creativity of it.
j/kseriously, just keep twisting back and forth and pulling. They'll come off sooner or later. There really is no trick to it.

I'd suggest getting new wires, just in case you rip them a part ...

I had a horrible time getting the wires off my LS1 - it took over an hour just to get all the wire boots off the plugs; a half hour for the first and easiest to get to - one. Something the previous owner had used turned into a latex looking glue. It was unbelievably difficult but it seem that once I got one, I had a process to get the others in much less time.
What I did was first rotate the boot back and forth on the plug a few times, then grip the boot with a large set of pliers and levered them on a small block of wood against various pry points. I would just stand there and apply pressure for up to 30 seconds or so and either try a different angle, move on to another wire or simply take a break and come back at it again.
I've changed plugs in cars for almost 40 years and this last time was a new one on me. Whatever the former owner used on those boots, I hope he got it in his hair and clothes as well.
