Stock hp is 320hp but its never exact, it depends on the car and how well its been taken care of, 1/4 mile time stock will be around 13.5 depending on the driver and the car, I think it has good power from bottom to top end but LS1s are know for there top end power, when you get the RPMs up there and it really sits you back in your seat. Take time to look around this sight I drives me crazy that ppl keep posting this same question, or one really close to it...Hope you find one though, you will fall in love right when you drive one if you havent all ready.

Nope, I havent driven one yet, But I do have a 99 Firebird. I want the ws.6 Gotta have that 6 speed, I live in Wv so im searching like crazy for one, But Its not a popular car around here! I have only seen one for sale around here but it was soft top and I want T tops, So i didnt test drive it! What kinda bolt ons can u get for these cars, also Cam suggestions, Without haveing to do major head work! Springs, timing and exaust are no problem! How far can I go without doing head work? OR would u suggest having the heads ported, and a custom cam built to go with it? I am wanting to build a nice street and strip car. Something that will run with the best around here. lol.

honestly, if you plan on doing THAT MUCH work to the car, don't get a ws.6 just get a regular 6sp t/a and replace evrything with aftermarket stuff [you can buy lighter, aftermarket ws.6 hoods]
Reason is: a ws.6 is allready priced like 15-20% more than a trans am b/c of the oooh-ahh wizbang sporty stuff like the hood, wheels and "suspension" Stock for stock, you won't notice a bit of power difference between the ws.6 and t/a.

Where in West Virginia do you live? I know where there is a 2002 red T/A 6-speed that has around 5,000 miles on it.
