skip shift
ok i have a 01 ta that i just bought recently and when i take off from a stop really slow and shift into 2nd it tells me skip shift. it wont do it any other time though what does that mean?

It is suppose to be one of those gas saving things they come up with. That is the only gear that it does it in. You can buy a skip shift eliminator and it won't do that.

the have the SLP piece if you are interested, I no longer need it because I have LS1edit. You can have it for 10 bucks, plus shipping.

Just ignore the light.

just a little more info, If you tune this out with LS1edit (or others) you can set the 'enable temp' to something your car will never see, like 300 degrees, then it just won't activate and the light will never come on. Just an example of not allowing it to work, or showing the light.

the skip shift is just for fuel economy and only kicks in if you are in 1st gear accerlerating at a slow rpm and speed. then the computer will gate you from 1st to 4th.
Its not a bad thing. Some people eliminate the skip shift, but I left the ON, with my car cause usually I am driving to fast to ever notice it, and when I do drive slow, I skip from 1st to 4th to 6th anyways..
