An old member
Hi, everyone. I used to post on ls1.com a few years back so some of you real old timers might recognize the name. Anyway, the car's at the point now to where I'm just trying to keep it running and in decent condition until I get it paid off, and at that point I'll either look at getting another one or dumping more money into this one. It's also at the miles/age where things are starting to break, and I know I've used this site and the members' knowledge a lot in the past about some different problems before so I thought why not get back in it. Plus, I've gone through a lot with this car so I may have some good advice here and there for others.
I am from Arkansas so I'll dispel a few rumors before they start. Yes, I wear shoes. No, I haven't slept with any family members. Yes, I did graduate from High School. Yes, I can spell (unless I'm really really tired or in a hurry or slightly enebriated). No, I don't live in a trailer, and no, my name isn't two words (i.e. Janie Sue).
As far as my car goes... I bought it when it was two years old and had 72k miles on it (highway miles). It is a white '99 T/A WS6, 6-speed, T-Tops, with the tan leather interior that I'm not real fond of (would have rather had black) but I'm too lazy and broke to go through changing it all out now. It had one owner, was well taken care of, and was completely stock. The first thing I did was the !CAGS mod (how annoying is that). Most of what is done is very small cheaper/free mods. A long time ago I thought I would be doing a lot of stuff to it, but things change so there we are. Here's a list of mods...
!CAGS, Boral adjustable catback exhaust (w/ no plate), B&R Ripper shifter, "WS6" engraved shift knob (that's real hot in the summer), BMR STB, BMR LCAs, SLP SFCs, SLP CAI, Ported/descreened MAF, SLP lid, K&N filter, Smooth bellows, FRA.
Things that aren't really mods but more maintenace related..
NGK TR55 plugs (what a PITA that was), Blue Taylor wires, Mobil1 oil/filter, cut EGR pipe, TB bypass (that was done out of necessity to fix an insane leak that happened the morning of a car show), and a ported/polished/painted TB which is off the car for a few reasons and the stock one is back on for now.
There are a lot more things I wanted and still want to do to it but life happens so most of that is put on hold. Well I guess that's about it.

Yeah, in retrospect I would have kept looking for one with much fewer miles. But as they say, hindsight is 20/20. It's been a real good car and the biggest thing that has had to be fixed is the water pump, so I'm not going to complain too much. Actually I will complain but I probably shouldn't.
I had a '98 Firebird before this one (also used but with fewer miles) that I really liked, but once I drove my ex-brother's T/A it was all over. And the moment I drove this one I fell in love.
Oh, and the name's Linda.
