My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
mac mids and ORY....
i saw a set of mac, ceramic coated mids and an ORY for sale for 300. That sounds like a good deal to me, do you think it's worth it? are those a decent set of headers? I plan on welding 2 cut outs onto the bends of the y and running "Open Headers" for the track, the rest of the time it'll go through a borla catback.

You could get brand new pacesetter coated longtubes for about $200 more. You'd have lontubes instead of mids and they would be new, not used.

Just switched from coated Macs to longtube set up with Borla. Dont notice any power difference (no dyno/track times yet) but the Mac setup was louder/raspier. I recomend the Macs for the price.

You probably won't notice a switch from mids to full length. There isn't a BIG difference between them. A switch from manifolds or shorties to mids or LT's will yield a notcieable gain.

there is but maybe a 1-2 hp diff between LT and mid's (Mac Mids)
btw, i dont recommend running open headers. it doesnt really help anything, gives you great torque but kills HP. the car will fall flat on its face as RPM's rise....aswell as washing the cylinder walls down with fuel and screwing up the motor.

good deal but realize the 3" collector is actually 2.5". I bought a set of Mac-mids w/ORY and it was not the 3" collector as advertised. I sold them and bought the $300 dollar Stainless Steel ones off Ebay. Just bought a pacesetter y-pipe and waiting for that to get in.
performace wise, 2.5" will give your car more mid to top end power, while 3" will give you more all around power. i personally don't think you will be disappointed w/the Mac's though...
for that price its a good deal ceramic coated goes for over $600 new. let us know what you decide to do...
