Torque converter should have been your first Mod. That the best mod for an A4.

With $3000? Do both and a tune. Even if you go with one or the other, get it tuned.

it wont even cost you 3k to have headers, stall converter, trains oil cooler, shift kit and tune done.
you will also need some nitto 555r tires on the rear so you have some traction.

I have a question about a stall on my car.. My car is a 98 TA A4 basically stock with only a SLP lid and free mods. Could I get a stall put in without having a tune done to the car?? And what size should i go with??? Only mods i plan on doing is headers, ORY, and magnaflow exhaust. Im thinking of keeping the 3.23 gears as well.

You don't have to get a tune with just a stall. But you may want to. The shift points may have to be changed.

What do you plan on doing to the car? Get at least a 3000 stall.

Well, Im just doing the typical mods. SLP air lid, K&N, longtube headers, ORY, magnaflow. I kinda doubt I will put a cam in it. Something i forgot to ask on the other post is what is the best stall to get for a stock cam? Or is it useless to get a stall with the stock cam? Ive heard through here that stalls really wake up the auto cars and im thinking of getting my tranny flushed here soon so I was thinking it was a good time to get a stall installed. I do plan on getting a tune after all the mods are installed as well to get the maximum power out of the car.

The converter should always be the first mod.
