To narrow or stay stock width?
Hey what's the pros and cons of narrowing a rear end for a 2002 camaro ? I recently broke my stock 10 bolt and getting ready to upgrade to a MWC 9" and I'm wondering if there is any benefit from narrowing it other than just looks ? What's the pros and cons of it ? If you have pix I would love to seen some narrowed setups. Thanks

Pro's - with correct offset you can run wider wheels which = more traction.
Con's - to get the benefits of running wider wheels you will need to install mini-tubs, wheels will need to have their offset adjusted, axles shorten in length. Depending on how much you shorten the rear suspension might have to be completely redone.
Narrowing the rear to be totally honest is not worth it for a street car. If it was a dedicated track car then go for it. The most I've seen on a F body is 3 inches on each side due to the design of the uni-body. So really it’s mainly just for looks. ? I’m building it for a track car in mind but also sees so street miles too .

No not really. With mini tubs that let you use the wider tires the traction gain is very important for track use. On the street you can still drive it but but it's a huge overkill for street cars.

If memory serves, you can stuff 315's under our cars with just a bit of massage work. No need to narrow the rear, imo. That's a lot of tire.
