02 WRX.... Had Catback Exhaust and Intake

My 00 SS... Has Flowmaster Exhaust, and SLP Intake... soon to have elect. cutout.. Who will win in a quarter?? a couple of friends say they would put a 100 bucks that he would win?? should i go for it in a drag strip??

If he can launch well than the STI wouldn't have a chance either. They only run low 13's because of the launch, so if you can keep them from jumping too far ahead off the line, its an easy victory, just reel 'em in

I was careful with my wording... I said "chance"

Bottom line is though, a newer STi with a good launch with I/E is definitely a low 13 second car, and so is the LS1 here, however, if its a WRX, its not even a race... it will get slaughtered 1/2 way down the track.

Catback doesn't do much for WRX/STi except for change the note of the exhaust. Intake will do nothing and will probably hurt him until he gets tuned or goes to a bigger turbo. So pretty much his mods aren't doing anything for him.

If the SS guy can drive worth a damn he will keep ahead of the WRX the whole time. Sure the WRX has the advantage on the launch, but the SS should reel it in hard and walk it by a huge gap through the 1/4 mile.

By 55MPH the SS should be carlengths ahead, no contest. We're talking over 100WHP difference here, its not a close race.

I wouldn't say no contest... If the WRX launched the shit out of his car (ie. pop the clutch at 6k) it will be a little closer. I have seen completely stock WRXs run 13.9s... However, if the WRX guy does do that he can say bye bye to his tranny, fairly soon...

I do think that the SS will walk him. I feel bad for the poor fellow suby owner. He is about to lose some money.

*Edit* I thought the SS was stock, stupid me and not reading the entire thread, especially the first post lol. SS will walk him no matter what the WRX does.

The race is going to be Friday night... we wanted to get it done quicker.. soo we are doing it right next to my old high school... i am going to have 2 camera shot veiws and one is going to be inside the car and a 1/4 mile down the road! I know i will kill him!..
