I was going about 2x a month, but that got costly with the price of ammo. I try to go once every couple months regardless. Been about 2 months now though.

I got out into the woods the week after I got back from the west coast and now have some deer meat in the freezer , but I havent taken any of my hand guns to the range in like 6 months so I'm WAY over due.

I'm in resupply mode. .40 cal has started coming down to reasonable prices.

Even though I don't have a .22LR or 5.56mm/.223 rifles yet, I may just start stocking up on them because I may be getting one or two soon. Looking at combo AR's that will let me switch the uppers out between the 22LR and the 5.56mm/.223.

I dont know why but I love to go to the range during this time of the year...I guess its just because of the weather maybe? Usually skeet shoot a lot during the fall as well...

Just concentrate on a good shooting .223/5.56 AR. You can convert any AR to .22lr with a 110 dollar kit. The most important thing is how well they shoot .223/5.56.

me and Zach ran some rounds through the muzzle loaders last week in the back yard and yesterday Chloe shot up a can with her 410. Do those qualify as going shooting? Getting them honed in for hunting season. Chloe missed a squirrel last weekend but that 410 leaves a lot to be desired for hunting. I like making them start on it though it teaches them a lot about knowing their effective range and shot placement. Zach moved up to the 12 gauge this year and he reached out and touched a squirrel with it last week. Youth deer gun season is the 3rd week of november and we have a lot more shooting to do with his muzzle loader. I'm having some issues with it but I'll get it figured out. Thing is all over the paper even with me shooting it. I ran into this with mine and got it figured out so I will with his too. I'm pouring his powder right now so the first thing I'm going to do is switch him over to pyrodex pellets and see how that works out......that gun is supposed to shoot pellets anyhow but in the past with my gun I had a ton of trouble out of those pellets so I just measure and pour. I tried backing his load down but that didn't help. It's a little Rossi youth 45 cal. Pretty nice gun overall if I can get the damn thing shooting like it supposed too.

I consider that going shooting. .410s leave a lot to be desired no matter who is shooting it unless you are 7 yards away lol. But that will help them get better for sure. I trap shot with my cousins .410 the other day for shits and giggles. I only hit 11 out of 25.

I haven't been to the range in about 5-6 months. I have to go soon and take my wife too. I mostly shoot 9mm, 40 cal and 45. I have 5.56 for my AR but I haven't really been interested in using it. Same with my 12 pump action shotgun. I have been thinking about selling my 357 5 revolver, maybe the shotgun or AR and a few more guns. I will just keep what I really carry and use.

Hard to trap shoot with a 410...I usually use the ole 12 gauge.

With that said, doing it with a 410 will probably help build accuracy.

I shoot almost every day since the town I live in approved me for an outdoor range. I just walk out of my back door towards the back of my 5 acres where I have wooden pallets with targets on them. I can blast away until dark. Loads of fun, nothing better after a bad day then to let loose some 9mm and .45 ammo.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

My favorite place to go shoot up in the mountains got washed out by last year's floods I hate going to the range. Always have to deal with the overzealous range Nazi (every range has one). That and it's almost impossible to do most of my training exercises at a fixed range.

think I'm going to move Chloe over to the .22 and let her give that a try. She missed another squirrel last weekend. Most of it is just inexperience but that 410 does suck. I believe she'd be better off with that .22 and I took the scope off of it last year so she'd get some good practice using sights. Going to run some shells through it during the week sometime. I've switched over to bow hunting for the next few weeks since rut is starting so it'll be several weeks most likely before they get to go after tree rats unless I tag a deer or two soon.
I'm going to let zach use my 12 gauge with slugs for the youth deer season. Have to let him run some slugs though that gun but I will bet money it'll be more accurate and consistent than that ML is right now. I killed a whole truck load of deer with that gun in my youth. Loved that gun but wanted a remington so I put it in the cabinet. Pretty sure I'll be carrying it for gun season this year just for old times sake.

Yea I have a couple places of private land that I can go shoot. I always have more fun shooting there then at ranges. But when I sight my guns in I still go to the range. Last time I was at the local indoor range we were finishing up. My buddy Brian was shooting my .22lr ruger pistol which had like 6 rounds left in it. I said lets go, he fired all 5-6 shots rapid fire and started cleaning up. You would have though he slapped this range officer's mom in the face by how irate he was when he came over and tried to ream Brian out.

The .22lr is a much more effective killer than .410 IMO. Atleast I know I can kill more effectivly with it... unless I am hunting birds.

Speaking of bow hunting I had a decent doe I could have taken a shot on two nights ago. But I want that buck that keeps following her around. He came out last night but no shot.

Yep....smart move is to sit on that doe & do everything in your power to not kick her out of there. He'll be chasing every tail around soon but as long as the doe arent hot he'll stay in that general area. If thats his home range he'll be back after rut if he survives. I been sitting in the rain all day and aint seen shit. Still too early. I come down next weekend for my 9 day stretch in the camper. Hopefully they'll turn on then. I tell you though.....i've enjoyed sitting with zach/chloe for squirrel as much as i enjoy bow hunting. It's awesome to see that excitement in them over a squirrel. Problem is it takes a shit ton of squirrel to equal the meat off 1 deer haha. I hunt for food first and everything else second.

No deer this weekend. Had to spend part of Saturday fixing my truck. Shot some pheasant on Sunday, mid day.

My fiance made some squirrel pot pie this weekend. I have one piece of deer meat left from the 3 deer that were in my freezer last year.
