Since they can't ban all guns they decide to go after the money....

Gun retailers say the Obama administration is trying to put them out of business with regulations and investigations that bypass Congress and choke off their lines of credit, freeze their assets and prohibit online sales.

Since 2011, regulators have increased scrutiny on banks’ customers. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. in 2011 urged banks to better manage the risks of their merchant customers who employ payment processors, such as PayPal, for credit card transactions. The FDIC listed gun retailers as “high risk” along with porn stores and drug paraphernalia shops.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department has launched Operation Choke Point, a credit card fraud probe focusing on banks and payment processors. The threat of enforcement has prompted some banks to cut ties with online gun retailers, even if those companies have valid licenses and good credit histories.

They mention that in the story. Both of them should get together and file class action status. Both industries are completely legal. Funny how any the banks are running to the pot dealers in CO with open arms but are now turning their back on a solid industry like firearms.

Well to be fair to the banks the government is creating this atmosphere. The federal reserve controls lending in this country. If the government tells them not to lend or consider these business and people "high risk" then the banks that do business with them stand to lose perks, benefits and rates that other banks would get. If you bank has to pay higher rates on money from the fed than other banks it puts you at a big disadvantage.

Beer, guns and porn are what I live on. Without those three staples in my diet I have no reason to live. Damn the government.
