Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
You are going to have to gently press the tube back in the block. Get a buddy to go under the car and keep the tube in the block while you GENTLY tap the tube back in using a small block of wood and a small hammer. Be careful. You may want to put a little sealer around the base of the tube when you are done.

there should also be a bolt that secures the dipstick to the block, usually to the cylinder.

I agree with SMW. If it is like the LS1, it has a small tab bolted in place.

they're usually really easy to get back in or a real pain in the ass.....I've pushed it back in and it hit the hole first try and I've had it take forever and need a buddy under there helping me guide it.
