Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
This is a very sad story but I feel this is a kneejerk reaction to the Newtown shooting and as time passes so will this issue. American's still love our guns, I know I do. I feel a 10 shot clip is something I can live with and the gun show loop hole is another but I will NEVER give up my assult rifles. NEVER.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

I agree these are all kneejerk reactions. As sad as the shooting was it is not the norm. I am not totally against gun legislation but it has to make sense and actually accomplish something. Banning assault rifles does not get the millions of them already off the streets. Banning high cap mags solves nothing, all you have to do is slide in another magazine which takes about 1 second. People who support these laws have actaully stated in some cases that the laws would not have prevented the CT shooting but they need to do something. So these asshats want to do anything they can even if it accomplishes nothing.

...it's the LSM fanning the hysteria, ...they were just waiting for something to happen to take the same old propoganda/hysteria out of the desk drawer...
...as far as i'm concerned we "cling to our guns", and that means no more business to any vendor who tucks tail and leaves us hanging... we have done nothing wrong and the implements used by the murderer really aren't the issue, ...we have societal problems and the same people who are fanning the hyseria are the same ones who've made schools soft targets to terrorists and mass murderers....

Not all schools are soft targets. In Texas they allow teachers to conceal carry on campus. I've never heard of any school shootings over there
There are a few schools here in AZ that do the same thing.
Don't know if that's the answer (or if there is a right answer) but I believe people need to arm themselves for the "just in case".
I don't watch TV so I'm not aware of all the shows being cancelled, and I don't shop for guns at Walmart or Dicks so I'm not aware of that stuff either. But I can tell you I've been spending alot of time in the local gun stores this past week and it's absolutely nuts. They have all sold out of everything, guns and ammo. Not just assult rifles, but even your simple semi auto hand guns are flying off the shelves around here. With legislature now pushing to do something (and they will) people fear that with all these new regulations they are purposing it's just going to be like pulling teeth to buy a simple hand gun now, limiting the amount of ammo you can buy, smaller magazine capacity regulations (which are in some states already) it just goes on and on. They are going to use this sad incident to really go after gun regulations this time. I'm sure Congress is on Christmas break right now which is why you aren't hearing much about it yet, but I'm sure when they get back in there next month they are going to make a push for regulations, and they are going to make it happen fast. So get your stuff now while you can. I don't think they are going to drag their feet this time. I'm not the only one that thinks so, hit a local gun store and see what I mean. Thousands of Americans are buying guns like never before.
One lady here in town just spent $8,000 on guns and ammo before this stuff goes in affect.
I'm stocking up on ammo as well when I can find it. I also wanted to get another Glock 19 and can't even find them, I'm waiting for an order to come in next week.
A friend of mine had been looking for an AR-15 now that all these regulations are going to hit the fan. One local store had just gotten 6 of them in, I almost fell over when I asked and he said yes. So I put a deposit on one and called him up. He drove 200 miles up here to Prescott and back for it. Phoenix is completely out, he's been trying for almost a week. While I waited for him to arrive, the other 5 AR-15's sold within 1 1/2 hours. That's $1,000 a pop. People aren't kidding around and are arming themselves to the teeth.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 12-21-2012 at 02:28 PM.

They aren't on vaca but are distracted by the fiscal cliff debates which are going on. Gun legislation is being introduced on a Federal and State level. Stores everywhere are sold out. And now there are reports being released that the shooter never even took the AR out of the car.

I didn't mean they were on vacation in the literal sense.
Yeah I had heard about the AR still in the car, so why the big debate on assault rifles?
I say "why a debate at all" since the same thing just happened over in China, and he used a knife to kill 22 people
Definately going to be a big deal though, since this involved little kids which just makes me sick. So I believe there is some form of legislation that is going to happen whether we like it or not, to what extent...who knows. But I believe this is the straw that broke the camels back. Buy what you can while you can.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 12-21-2012 at 05:48 PM.

The guy in china used a knife to cut 22 people in a school including kids. No one died though. Mainly because China has security guards at all of their schools because of attacks in 2009, 2010 and 2011 where dozens of children and teachers were killed with knives.

Agree and China proved this in 2009-2011 when there were multiple school attacks with knives where many people died. The legislation talked about is retarded. I am ok with back ground checks being required on all private sales but other than that the proposed laws are retarded.

I agree completely, backround checks should be done on every gun purchase, so going after the gun show sales and other private sales is a great idea. Should have been doing that all along.
Have to wait and see what else they want to legislate next month. I'm hearing all kinds of crazy stuff that solves nothing.

I suck at links but it was on the news here in AZ. My wife had heard it on TV and told me about it. But I'm not sure everything on the news is always accurate, seems early reports change. Since I've heard it from several people though I tend to think it might be true since it's obviously been reported in other states. My father heard the same thing in Ohio.
If that's the case, it sure makes the argument against assault rifles pointless. Which might lead them to simply attack any type of semi automatic weapon with magazines. And I think that is what the general public believes is going to happen judging by the sales of guns around here. About the only thing left on the shelves around here are small caliber 5-6 shot revolvers. Anything that is semi auto and takes a clip is practically sold out.
That's why I'm stocking up now. Next month things are probably going to change.

Doesn't help the NRA speech yesterday was so out of touch that it was just a blame game. Sorry but blaming on video games/tv/music is just a reach for straws. MSN and others are having a field day with it.

the gun grabbers are just doing what they always do, ...irrational yelling, outbursts, calling for "ban this, ban that", ...it's utterly predictable, ...they do this at every tragedy... this is the LSM, this is who they are... so, whenever these namby-pamby jackasses start going hysterical, people go out and buy everthing up en-masse... that's what we are seeing now...
...here is what you SHOULD be doing now:
1) are you an NRA member?... renew that membership, upgrade that membership, or join if you are not a member - the free ride is up folks, ...you want to head the gungrabbers off, better get engaged... NRA membership is a "bare minimum" of taking a part in the fight!
2) contact your federal legislators, and lay it on them... the 2A isn't about hunting, and any discussion in that context is utterly irrelevant...
3) we have societal problems, ...and that's not any one of our fault...
4) the rifles they always target, aren't anything special, ...they are old technology developed many decades ago, ...been around a long time... because of (3), and terrorism, etc. these things seem to flare up
5) the LSM continues to outdo itself in terms of suck... they are 100% leftist propogandists... tune them out, and set the record straight w/ the folks in your circles...
6) schools are very soft targets... the only thing worse would be to put up signs reading: "we are holed up in this building w/out any means of defense.." but that disturbed know that's exactly the case anyway...

I am confused. Didn't we just pass all the CCW laws? The majority of americans acknowledge the revelance and usefulness of these laws. Last I heard, I think that 42 states had enacted CCW laws. And these were backed up by evidence of their usefulness.
Wasn't the shooter in Colorado legally allowed to own guns? That just makes him a nut job. They should be banning nut jobs. And, not letting felons out of prison so quickly. We don't hear about that statistic. But, they only kill one and two at at time. So, who cares? Yeah, right.
Back on the gun ban topic, I was listening to NPR the other day, and they talked about the Tasmanian Massacre. It was the catalyst that set forth Australia's gun ban. There was 35 people killed and 22 wounded IIRC. I think it was called something else, but that is where it happened.
I am perfectly happy with my bolt guns. I would like to get an AR, but my bolt gun is deadlier.
That Clinton ban was only based on "cosmetics". Flash suppressors. What an idiotic thing to ban. The only place that has an application in on the battle field. When there are rounds going off continually. And, you are concealed.
I completely agree that something has to be done. More police is my best guess. We already have so many laws it isn't even funny. A bigger presence on the street would def help.

Absolutely, but I think we are currently talking about stopping/deterring crazy/stupid. Crazy will do as crazy does, but a bigger police presence might do the trick. And, we all know criminals don't worry about laws. Have you guys seen the movie Rampage? I watched it out of curiousity, and that is an example of a socio path. Even so, the first thing he did was take out the police presence in his town. Because they have the skill and equipment to stop him. You don't go on a shooting spree at will. It takes planning I am sure. Maybe a bigger police prescence would only move these types of people to softer and softer targets, but we have to protect ourselves and our families as best we can. If we could have the luxury of escorting our children every day all day, we would, but we can't. We have to work. So, we rely on the police to carry that responsibility. If we can beef that force up, theoretically, we increase the protection for everyone. I am not trying to get up on a stump with this issue. I don't have the perfect solution, for sure. Now, if you want to ask about the illegal immigrant issue we have with Mexico, I believe I DO have the perfect solution. That is a stump I would climb on.
