Skyline Drive ride, Shenandoah State Park

Wife and I go up there 2-3 times a year. So yesterday we decided to ride up which was very chilly on the bike, but tolerable with the right gear. She was a trooper and handled the chill better than I thought.

The follage looks greats and just at peak.

Wife warming up as she was really cold in this shot.

I've Been to Skyline several times as I'm local (Md) and yes it's beautiful, however I'm very intrigued by the desert. I'd love to get out to Arizona or Socal or New Mexico and see it.

It's a nice place to visit I remember thinking the same the first time I went on a run through Palmdale. Lived there two years and to this day, you couldn't run fast enough to catch me to bring me back there

I love the West Too it is very unique. Even though I live in Va. I have some friends that I visit in CA. In 2005, this was my itinerary; landed in Las Vegas and rented a car, stayed in Vegas a few days and drove to the Hoover Dam, went back to Vegas for the night, next day drove to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon stayed there a couple of days, drove from the Grand Canyon to Anaheim Ca to Disney Land, Stayed there a few days, visited my friends in LA where i drove all over the place and stayed off the interstates as much as possible, left went back to Vegas where I departed. Love Cali.

Well the wife and I went up again This weekend. Thought about taking the Cafish up but there was a threat of rain. There was also a Subaru cruise from Nasioc/IWSTI there that day. However, the color is past peak up there unlike last year.

Saw this guy and a few other about 10 feet from the car.

And of course had to take one of her not paying attention.
