Dude he said SUMMIT white, not Speedway white or Arctic White, maybe he would have better luck if he looked for a white that GM actually put on the Vette.

i liked the 3rd one down on your list,b/c lowest miles /may be best condition ? would really like you to find 2002,2003,or 2004 model, much better/ zo6 power, and less motor problems .. a nice c/5-zo6 ,2004 is the best year..that model.. i owned lemans blue /chrome wheels /carbon fiber hood/ lower gears in the tranny / all factory stock !!

I think white Z06's were only available in 2001 but i maybe wrong.

i think you are right, about the c/5 zo6.. they came back in white in c/6/2007 zo6, called ron fellows edition.. that edition had nice red leather interior.. actually white vettes were not that popular with the corvette people !, rons edition dont hardly bring any more than other models..to me can live with any color vette , lowest miles/owners / etc.. is more important !!

i was looking to buy a 1967 big block /conv.in 1974.. i really wanted a red or black one !! finally came across one, but looked bad!! black look like almost painted, with a brush,? it was that bad !! after much discussion got it for $2,600. motherinlaw loaned me the monies, could not pass, on this great deal at the time..vette also had tinted glass and power steering and power brakes.. over about 3 years did ,re-chromed/bumpers, front end parts ,etc.. finally vette was ready for painting.. painting guy was one of the best in his field /corvettes.. good news was when stiping down, no hits anywhere , but orignal color was elkart blue/teal blue leather inside with white stripe hood big block hood.. he said paint original color !! , not red or black..i won 32 shows with this vette beat all the red/blacK ,ones... was a rare color with factory color top/ teal blue !!

wow that sounds like a nice /fast 2001[white] model zo6.. i think would have to see and drive that corvette,look over on lift etc..

I thought all the C5 Z06s got the same transmission gear and rear gear ratios? Also, doesnt the regular 6-speed C5 get slightly different tranny gears than the Z06? I think they are more of a wide ratio.

What is the real difference between the 01 and the 02-04 Z06 engine? I was under the impression it is the rings and cam profile. Anything else? From what I see its not ALL 01s either, much like the LS2 issues with oil consumption.

first -all c5 zo6 got the lower gears, in the tranny ,6 speeds of course ! all 6 speed corvettes have same rear end ratio, still true today.. 2001 zo6 motors were not right and very noisy, friend had one ,you would not like metal sounds ,they were making !! did you notice the guy selling his 2001 zo6 replaced/updated the shortblock.. stock,2001 zo6 was 385 horses... i think 02,03 and 04 zo6 motors were unrated at 405 horses..gm made internal mods to up the horsepower, so all us could not make our regular corvettes, a zo6 with some outer bolt on mods.. i know one thing for sure ,softer rings[ and old stock car trick] i think cam and better heads, intake track etc. funny thing today still all 6 speeds have same, rear ratio.. but my c6 zo6 ,has differant gears in tranny ,than zr1..

talking about tranny gears, some covettes/c5/c6 also got the lower tranny gears, 6 speeds with z-51 , factory option..

Ah I see.

My friends 02 Z06 is quite snappy. I like the car a lot.

I think from what I have seen it starts all the way at the front of the engine. The air intake as well as the MAF is different. Looks like the block is the same (could be wrong), the heads are the same, the intake is the same (though different part number), and the cams are differnet.

2001 gets a 207/217 with .525/.525 with 116 LSA. vs the 2002+ 204/218 with .551/547 117 LSA. Piston Rings are different as well.

Anything else that I am missing? GTOs get the Z06 internal tranny gearing as well.
