Should I Lower It or Get New Wheels First?
This might be a stupid question but I truly don't know which I should do first. For my 02 WS6 I want to go with 18" Z06 Replicas (without the rivets) with 10.5 in the back and 9.5 in the front. For suspension I'm going with Strano Springs with either KYB or SLP Bilstein's and supporting lowering suspension mods.
Well which one should I do first?

How are the factory wheels and tires?
And the stano's and KYB AGX's are what my friend has on his Z28 and it's a great setup. I like the AGX's I got them for $370/set of 4 with the new style BMR springs and there great.Last edited by RyanJM; 06-24-2010 at 02:26 PM.

I would lower it first it will look and handle better with those springs and shocks plus ws6's look good lowered with the stock 17"s. If you get wheels first the car will probably look like a 4x4 as do most f-bodies with 18"s on stock suspension.

I would say lower it 1st unless your like me and your tires when it came time to start modding after years of not touching it for warranty and because it was good enought for what I had originally needed. But when I needed new shock my chrome wheels were peeling and 2 tires were getting low on tread and they were all looking old.
If your wheels still look good and you don't need tires then I would say lower it 1st.
If your wheels have curb rash and tires need to be replaced then get the wheels and tires 1st. That's my way of looking at all the mods I have done. My shocks and sway bar mounts were trashed so I replaced the complete suspension instead of doing the cam and stall. Go with the parts that need it more.

Yeah it has some curb rash and small bend in the lip on the outer ring of the rim but you only see it if your very close to the wheels and Yeah I need new tires. These ain't cuttin' it.. The still have a good bit of tread left though (60 percent).
I still think I'm going to do suspension first cause my tires aren't bothering my daily driving any. Unless someone can come up with a good reason why I should go the other way around.

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
I would lower it first, and I wouldn't put KYBs back on my Camaro if someone paid me too.

I'm curios as well since I have mine and their fine with my BMR's and my friend has a set with his Strano's and likes them. Koni's are better but also more than twice the price so it depends if you got the cash to spend. My friend had Bilsteins with his Strano's and likes the KTB AGX's better.

ya but if I Koni's are way too much for a car I drive once or twice a month. I rather keep my KYB's and get a cam.

Pewter- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am
your car is 8 years old, the springs have probably sagged enough to give you a 1-2 inch drop already.
