bad news!!
Just figured out that my block is
crac/ked
. actually it has 2 dime size holes in it plus one connecting rod broke. I definitely need some input/advice one some routes to go. I want big bang for my buck but i also want a good strong motor. money should never be an object but unfortunately for most of us it is including me, but im flexible.
thanks, fellow Brotheren.

Look for a used, low mileage LS1/2 or an LQ9. Just sayin.

well right now i have like 2grand in the bank saving for this. i really think i just want to buy a new block and build my own. the reason i want to do this is because i bought my car used and look where im at. plus it will be cooler to say and i can beef it up. possibly gonna do a stroker but not sure. im just gonna keep savin cuz i have to do the suspension also which is around another 3+ grand for that so.

talk to some good performance shops--- if you dont mind throwing a non-stock block in your f-body the an lq9 is a great starting point. or even if you find an iron 5.3 block they can be bored out to 346 cubes no problem. this is the same cubes as an ls1.

Theres only like a 88 or so pounds difference iirc. You wont need to mod the suspension or anything. They are based off the LS engine family and you can use alot of your ls1 parts on it.
Plus all you need with the LQ9 is a stroker kit and you got a 408.Last edited by raynor139; 05-17-2010 at 09:21 PM.

LS6 crate motors can be picked up for $3500. Plug and play and you can use all the stuff from your LS1 on it. PCM needs a new program, but Frost can do that too.
