Lt1 p1371
Hey Guys,
As many know I have a 96 T/A
I have had the most horrible luck with the Opti Spark on this thing.
About a year and a half ago I replaced the timing change, all gaskets in cover, and the opti. Also replaced the Opti harness.
I went through TWO optis from AutoZone that where DOA. I special ordered the Accel and everything has been GREAT.
Now less than 20,000 miles later I'm having some strange things happen.
First my wife says the tach was jumping around then just stopped working YET the car ran fine and she drove home on the highway with no problems.
This was an issue for about 1 week. Now we have started having the infamous no start active P1371 issue. Clear the code wait 20-30 min and the car starts and runs fine for an undetermined amount of time.
It is the vented opti and I also replaced those vaccum lines while I was in there. I was shooting for no front end motor work for the next couple years.
Do I just have HORRIBLE luck or is there by chance something else that could be happening that I'm missing?
I pulled the opti harness and everything looked fine. There has been a TON of rain in this area this year and I mean A LOT of rain.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

check to make sure your water pump isn't leaking on to the opti... also check the block plugs around the opti area to make sure that they aren't leaking coolant on to it...

Thanks for the input!
Water pump is an electric pump. Another addition I made to make sure I did not have to tear anything off the front of the motor anytime soon
So much work and effort for it to not even last 2 years!!
I will check the block plugs though.
