Looking to buy 18x8
Found some American racing wheels on tirerack. They are 18x8. My question is, what width of tire can I get away with on an 8 in. wide tire? I was hoping to get 275/40/18 on them. Any chance or too wide?

Shit, I figured I'd be pushin it. Appearane-wise, is this gonna look much thinner than the 275?

Also, do you know the stock wheel width on an '01 trans am ws6? I figured it might be the same as your '02 z28. I know it's a rookie question but I honestly don't know the answer.

Yeah, no 275's on the 8" wheel.
And yeah, they will look thin in the rear. There are 18x10 wheels out there...not sure what look/model you are going for.

I wanna keep wider tires on it. 275 is really what I'm wanting. How wide of a wheel do I need to legitimately support these?
Thanks for the answer killa

A 9in wide wheel is what you need to run 275's, you can even go wider if you want on a 9in wide wheel

Sounds good, killa. I'm not sure i'll go wider. But glad to know I have that option.

These are the ones I wanted. Don't think it will work because they are 18x8 but didn't see any wider ones on tirerack or onlinetires. They have 20x8.5 but I don't want to go that big on the tires.

Those are really nice, definitely don't want 8in wide rims in the back.
when you find some new ones post a pic.

Those are legit, man. And the size I'm wanting. Ironically I just stumbled across wheelsnext tonight for the first time. I am seriously considering these.
