New from Down Under
Hi, as the title suggests i'm not from inside continental US of A.
Subject 91 TPI 5.0 Litre V8. Note ! I did not build this car / engine.
Found your site after searching for clues as to why the Trans Am I inherited won't start cold / cool or left for longer than about 8 hours.
It starts fine if I use Aero Start and it then runs fine, so fuel pressure must be there when running, but it will not start under normal cranking when cooled down or overnight.
New fuel pump fitted 3-4 mths back, found now that when key is on (no start) ignition only = no fuel pressure, nothing in line.
Ran the engine for a while until warm, opened fuel line and NO residual fuel pressure, no leaks, zip.
Cranked engine with fuel line open and fuel gushed out everywhere no problems.
Can anyone help, I have been told a possible faulty reley, where is and what does this relay look like, remembering I have not put this engine together.
NO blown fuses in normal fuze box, BUT anything is possible with the car as it was a rellies project, he died and the car ended up in my front yard, I need to sell it to make creditors of deceased happy, no start = not likely to sell.
It runs and drives fine apart from the start problem.
